History of Flood 1997-Present
After thirteen years there was still a flicker of a flame in Flood that we could not let go, there were some good and bad times for us all, but even with the lack of management support you can see that they have had some notable achievements that other unsigned bands can only think of doing.

The debut album Cats & Trumpets was a self financed C.D featuring 11 original tracks, recorded and engineered by Tim Hamill at Sonic One studios. The highlight of exposure for the album being the track “Stop the World” which helped us win at Orange County Music Awards (OCMA) 2002 in California 2003 brought a fresh new EP ”Somewhere down the tracks” which has received lots of positive feedback and the track One and One ain’t three winning us our second award at OCMA.

On the Internet Peoplesound.com have chosen some of our material for promotion such as the music compilation distributed with the Millennium Edition of Windows and also songs earmarked for advertising and film music etc , which we are excited about! We have been in the top ten of unsigned artists on peoplesound and featured on PC world magazine cd rom which has a circulation 20,000+.

The band has had airplay on radio and a video made featuring one of the tracks which has been played on T.V. The debut album “Cats & Trumpets” is selling well with plenty of positive feedback. The Swansea based radio station “The Wave 96.4 fm” has selected one of our tracks for two of their compilation albums “Waveband one & three” which features some of the best unsigned bands in South Wales. Recently a radio station based outside Amsterdam has been playing a selection of our songs.

Even though we are proud of the recorded work and interest on the net, the band are mainly about playing live and have nearly three hundred gigs under their belt as Flood, with individual members having played many more. This included playing a short promotional tour in California. We have played the Kashmir Klub in London a venue which is earning respect as the place to be to see unsigned artists and is often a haunt for famous musicians, one performance went out live via the internet. Catatonia’s drummer Aled Richards has guested for us, playing The Coal Exchange in Cardiff on the same bill as The Super Furry Animals.
also playing some good gigs such as “The Cavern Club” in Liverpool as well as outdoor festivals.
